Bring What?
Thursday, September 24, 2009
Imagine this:
You are having a bad day. In fact, it's so bad you officially named it 'one of those days' right after you woke up with a Mount Fuji sized zit on your chin, you poked yourself in the eye while you were putting on your mascara and you didn't realize until after putting your cereal in the bowl-spoon at the ready-that you didn't have any milk. Ugh. Let's assume the rest of the day goes equally badly, culminating with a staff meeting based on building trust where you end up spending the afternoon falling backwards into Weird-Smell-Guy's arms from accounting. Great.
Finally, post meeting you end up in a coffee shop where blessedly it's just you and your laptop. For those of you who love coffee, you will know that this is the instant where your bad day starts to become a much better one. For those of you who do not enjoy (understand) coffee, imagine your own happy beverage. You check your email; between your friend Susan`s daily report on her current relationship turmoil (she's decided that his handlebar mustache really isn't that bad), and your super spam-a-lot group of acquaintances who insist on sending you chain letters-at least you have something to blame your bad day on...should have sent that last one to ten friends, not four, damn-fortunately, there it is:
The Invitation. It comes from the awesome new group of friends you`ve been hanging out with and they have invited you to a rad party. You don`t even have to bring your own booze (but you can still stash some shot-sized Sourpuss mini-bottles in your purse, no one has to know), the only thing they are requesting is that you
BRING: yellow
Now begins the hunt; anything yellow? Yes, anything yellow. Rubber ducky? Lemons? Old Big Bird Costume? You finally settle on bringing your old yellow beanbag chair which ends up causing a hilarious disaster of rolling bodies when it springs a bean-leak. Best party ever. Not such a bad imaginary day after all. Well, my point is made. You now know what the name of this magazine means and you also should know it's the perfect destination for a little inspiration, a good laugh, cool stuff and to learn something new...and make a bad day better!
